to encourage students to educate others about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). CRPS formally known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) is a chronic, degenerative, neurological pain disorder.
Despite appearing "healthy" on the outside, individuals with CRPS often struggle to manage their pain and lead normal lives. CRPS is an invisible disease, similar to fibromyalgia, depression, diabetes, and eating disorders.
It can be difficult for those with CRPS to cope with others downplaying their illness due to its invisibility. Raising awareness, supporting education, and funding research for CRPS is crucial to finding a cure for this debilitating pain disorder. As part of our advocacy work, we are offering two Fight the Flame® CRPS Awareness Scholarships of $1,000 each to high school seniors.
